Need a little direction please

Now that I have HA running great I’d like to refine my automations/scripts to do more.

I’d like for instance control the AC and Heat better. What I mean by that is that when the temp drops to a certain level turn off AC and turn on Heat… which can also be based on time of year month or season…

Has anyone automated their climates devices to that extent? Any help would be appreciated!!

I’m using this thermostat for similar situation. You can define heater, cooler all in one thermostat. It is even capable of PID (but that is for experienced HVAC people and optional).
