I am going to be installing 2 new ceiling fans soon and I want them to be smart controlled through Haas.io
I need the ability to
-control fan on/off and speed
-control light on/off and dimming
-I need some sort of wireless wall controller to go with it.
I need something that installs in the ceiling with the fan as none of the switches in my house work, and I don’t want to rewire all of them.
I was looking at the Insteon 2475F FanLinc but I’m not sure what I need to do to integrate it with hass.io and I don’t want to get any hubs. USB adapters are fine, but I really don’t want to get any hubs. Plus Insteon products in general don’t seem to have great reviews.
This is what I currently use, I connect to it with a wink hub, but I believe it uses zigbee, so you might be able to find a USB zigbee adapter that works with HA. Not sure if that exists though.
Wow, I’m bookmarking that site, nice stuff. Now I’m not sure, but don’t sonoff devices have to be flashed with custom firmware in order to work with HA?
Does the Hampton Bay work with the Wink hub 1, or do I need the new Wink Hub 2? Because im tempted to just get this, and a Wink hub 1 for $38 on Amazon and call it a day. The entire Wink hub itself can be integrated into HA right?
Thats what im going to do, I already got the hampton bay controllers on order, my wink hub showed up today, and I bought the fans last night. Thank you everyone for your help.
How did this work out. I bought s house with 3 fans built in that have wireless controllers built in - I assume they use RF- these are standard wireless fan controllers - circa 2008 from Harbor breeze.
Looking for the easiest way to get these linked in
