Need help installing Smart Thermostat (wiring)

Hello guys,
I just purchased this Zigbee Thermostat for water floor heating to replace with my current Thermostat.

My current thermostat is wired this way:

Here is the wiring scheme:

This is the new thermostat:

And the new wiring scheme:

I am sure, that brown belongs to 4 (in new thermostat) and blue belongs to 3. I put the black cable in 2; the thermostat works but it never reaches the temperature I set up. I also rewired the black cable to 1 - but this does not have an effect either.

Does this thermostat even work with my existing wiring?

Thank you for helping me!

Hi @dengo , I have the same old and new thermostat and the same problem, did you manage to make it work? The brown is the live wire and goes to 4 otherwise the thermostat will not even turn on, but as well I can’t make the thermostat to control the valve or thermal actuator.

No I couldn’t make it work. Seems like they are not compatible. I sent the thermostat back to the seller.

I suspect that it could be because yours says 10(4)A and mine 16(4)A and the new thermostat is 5A, but actually I have no idea. Thanks for you answer!

For example here, he uses one with lmax 16A

It’s because the original Halmburger thermostat is a switched-live (the incoming live in screw-terminal 1 is switched with the output on terminal 2), but the new zigbee controller is switched-neutral (the incoming neutral is switched between terminals 1 and 2). That makes them incompatible unfortunately unless you add a relay into the circuit.

16A (Amps) and 10A are the amp-ratings for the switches, normally these don’t need to be rated for more than 5A as they are just switching a small actuator.
