Need help setting up Home Assistant with Google Nest

I previously set up a Google Assistant integration using this guide:

It works great. Can sync my devices, and I can use the Assistant to control my Home Assistant devices.

I just recently got a Google Nest Doorbell, and I would like to see the camera in my Home Assistant. I am having trouble with the setup though. Following this guide:

I am using the same Google Cloud Project that I set up for the Google Assistant integration. I added Smart Device Management and Cloud Pub/Sub APIs in the project. I set up the OAuth Consent Screen. I set up the OAuth Client Credentials. And I created a Device Access Project.

I am now stuck on the final step of linking my Google Account.

In Home Assistant, I click “Add Integration”, and select Google > Google Nest. I insert my Google Cloud Project ID, and then insert my Device Access Project ID. I then select my google account and it gives me the error:

Information could not be retrieved. Please contact Home Assistant to verify that your account has been properly set up. You may need to add the developer email address as a home member in the Google Home app settings.

How do I fix this?

Among many other reasons, I’ve recently heard that this can be shown when there are no devices supported by the SDM API. Double check your device is on the list of supported devices.
