I have around 10 ESP8266 (D1 Minis) flashed with Tasmota, which I use to control relays. In the past, I configured them with the Hue Emulator, and Alexa would detect all my devices without any issues. However, that’s no longer happening.
Initially, I thought it was a unique problem on my end, as I couldn’t find anyone else experiencing the same issue. But today, someone commented on one of my posts, mentioning they’re encountering the exact same problem.
This is where I could use some help. I’m trying to determine if this is a broader issue that will affect all Tasmota users in the future or just a problem affecting a few of us.
If any of you have a couple of ESP8266s available, I’d appreciate it if you could flash them with Tasmota, set up a couple of relays in the configuration (no need to physically connect the relays), enable the Hue Emulator, and ask Alexa to discover new devices.
If everything works as it should, Alexa will recognize each relay as a “light.” However, if Alexa only finds one device, it means you’re confirming the issue. You’ll notice that when you delete the single device Alexa finds, another one appears in its place. For example, if you set up three relays, Alexa will initially show only one. After you delete it, the second one will appear, and after deleting that, the third will show up. But Alexa will never list all three devices simultaneously.
