Nest devices local control

So I purchased a home that came with lots of Nest devices including cameras, smoke detectors, thermostats, and door and window senors.

I connected some of these for free to my Google account but I really want to de-Google myself and want local only devices like z-wave. Is it possible to use any of these devices with local only control?

If the cameras have/can Onvif or RTSP you can also try Generic Camera or Onvif-Integration.

For the other devices you need - in my opinion - always a Google Account and Home Assistant installation must be accessible via https:// So “de-Google myself” is not possible. :slightly_smiling_face:

Then you can use the Google Cast Google Cast - Home Assistant or the Google Assistant Integration Google Assistant - Home Assistant (look at Manual setup)

But I don’t know if the instructions in the links are still correct and work.

If you also have a Google Hub/Display. Example: Use Google Displays with Home Assistant 2022 Update - YouTube

Thank you for all the info but it sounds like none the devices I have support local polling at all so I’ll be replacing them over time :slightly_frowning_face:
