Hi there.
I’ve recently got the prompt to move my Nest Doorbell from the Nest app to the Google Home app. Currently I’ve got the streaming working through the complicated API process (at least complicated for someone learning like me). For those that have done this, will transferring to the Google Home app break that streaming or will it continue to work?
Thanks
Alan
Where did you receive that message? I’m still using the nest integration too…
I was also following go2rtc addon, seems they can integrate nest cams too with webrtc, there is a new PR for ir
Never tried it with that component…
Got a prompt from the Nest app and Google Home app. Doesn’t give much info apart from “to improve your experience, transfer…blah…blah…blah”.
I have terrible delays on my streaming to a point it’s useless as a doorbell video notification so was hoping it might help somehow. What is your experience? I get like 20s delay in feed.
Yeah, same delay here… Not always working reliable too…
Maybe that we stream component can help, never tested it
But my camera is already for a long time in Google home app, but I still use nest integration… I don’t there is any other?
I’ll let you know if I go through with it. At the moment contemplating moving over to another system. But money is tight and my wife would kill me if I bought another gadget.
I decided to transfer anyway, since the stream is useless as I intended anyway. And now it’s broken . I’ll have to figure out how to show again
I went through the full setup again and now it’s working.
Is this working properly now? I could see the camera in home assistant when migrated to the google home app, but events would not work, I’ve seen a github issue about it but for the life of me cannot find it to check on its progress
I’m not showing the camera anymore as the 20s lag makes it useless
So no clue if it still works unfortunately
Any news?
I use doorbell events to get a notification with photo and show the video in television.
My news is I bought a reolink doorbell on black friday to replace my nest one . Still have to install it though and I’m hoping the alerts through Google hubs aren’t too painful to get going.
