It’s easy to connect the Nest Hello doorbell to Home Assistant. I can see the Camera footage (images), and I have binary sensors for sound detection, people detection and motion detection.
However, I don’t have access to arguably the most key feature - a binary sensor that switches on when the actual doorbell gets rung. Ring doorbells had this, I’m surprised to find the Nest Hello doesn’t have any sensor whatsoever to detect if someone is ringing the doorbell.
Can this be added? I’d like to do a few automations for when the doorbell gets rung. Was easy with Ring, now seemingly impossible with Nest Hello.
