I have Nest Protects in my house and I have enabled the nest component in HASS with my id and secret and then via the UI configured nest entered the pin and both my protects show up in the UI with Online, Smoke, CO2 and battery sensors however when the alarm is triggered either warning or alarm it doesn’t show up in HASS yet the other alarm gets the alert so does both mine and the wifes phone so its obviously sending out the warning/alarm signals so why isn’t HASS getting these?
Hi awarecan. Upgraded to 0.71 today then set my protect off for 15 seconds silenced it and then about another 20 seconds it said smoke cleared but still in HASS says the protect smoke sensor is OK updated 42 minutes ago (I set it off about 20 mins ago).
no I’m setting the alarm off for real. The alert comes through pm the app absolutely fine and it triggers the other protect I have so I know it’s connected and reporting back to nest perfectly fine just doesnt go through to HASS
I set the alarm of at 06.43 this morning the time is currently 06.47 and the sensor on HASS is showing OK last updated 7 minutes ago. If you hover over the OK bar it shows:
OK
11 June 2018, 06:48
12 June 2018, 06:48
The 7 minutes ago would of been when HASS rebooted for config changes.
from the log I can read that the first update event received on 2018-06-12 06:43:02, and it keep received update till 06:43:05, then after 20 seconds, from 06:43:23 to 06:43:26, there was another wave of update events.
So it looks like network is ok, the upstream library works well. Did you ever get Nest Protect works in your HA before/after upgrade?
Ok out of the blue randomly is reported whe I accidentally set it off and the automations I had setup ran so thats great news. Not sure whats changed though.
Got my protect up and running today, if I understand correctly from the community posts, there is not a way to really test the states? OK, warning, emergency?
The test button on the nest “works” but does not report back to HA.
Does anyone have way to test the various states? I’d hate for my house on fire to be the 1st time I test my automations, haha
