Can you use the Nest Component if you only have the Protects or do you have to have a Nest Thermostat too?
I tried to set up the component as suggested in the site but I’m not seeing the smoke alarms in the dev states page.
Solved this myself; you can definitely use the Protects only. Use the example for setting up the Nest Component and omit the platform: thermostat line. Then on the Nest Sensor config, just monitor the battery level, CO and Smoke status indicators.
Does anyone know what the available states are for CO and Smoke though? I know one is “OK” but what is/are the others?
