Netatmo valves without relay?

Is it possible to connect NETATMO valves to Home Assistant without a relay?

Thanks.

You have to search if the relay protocol was hacked buyt i don t think it is the case

Hello,
I am also very interested

I don’t think so (according to the docs).

this must now be possible because the new API was released at the beginning of March:
https://forum.netatmo.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9621&p=58911&hilit=Valve#p58911

That document states clearly:

A Relay, powered by 220V is plugged in a socket. It connects via Wi-Fi to the internet, uploads data measured by the Thermostat and Smart Valves to Netatmo servers. It also retrieves commands sent by Netatmo servers and transmits them to the Thermostat and Smart Valves.

Netatmo Smart Valves also connect to the Relay via long-range radio frequency.

So, you have to have a relay in order to control the valves as you have to for the thermostat. The relay connects to the netatmo servers which provide the API to control it.

If you want to get rid of the internetconnection you can just use the homekit intergration and prevent the relay from connecting to the internet via your router. Works great for me. For setup of course you have to use connect it to the internet but after that it can run local.
