Netatmo Weather Station - cloud-dependent?

Hi,
I was thinking about getting a Netatmo NWS01 and integrate it into my HA setup.
Is it possible to use it purely local without Internet connectivity?
Looking at how this thing is set up in HA, I assume that it can only be used as a paperweight without the vendor’s cloud service, right?
That would be a deal-breaker for me.

You are right, everything is processed in the netatmo cloud.

But still, it is a very nice gadget. The CO2 indoor measurement feature is unique. It tells you, when it’s time to open the windows.

The weather map is on top of it, it can be used without having your own station. Look here

Thanks for replying - even if it’s two years later
Still, I won’t get anything that relies on cloud services to function.

I would prefer Netatmo with local API too.

I am not 100% sure but I think the Netatmo weather station does support homekit which should provide a local interface to your device. I haven’t tested it but it might be worth a try.

Just to follow up on this, the Netatmo thermostat works with homekit and HA just fine. (I haven’t tested without internet though)

Can anybody confirm if netatmo devices can be queried locally?

No they cannot.
