Network Issues

A bit off topic for this specific forum but It’s affecting my HASS instance the most so I though I would take a shot.

Recently had my internet plan upgraded, it came with a new modem which I asked to be in bridged mode. ( the say it is but they only turned off the wifi radios according to them ) If it was truly in bridged mode should it serve up an IP address to my router?

With my PI plugged into my router I can’t reach HASS. With the Pi Plugged directly into the modem I can reach HASS but of course a lot of it doesn’t work because everything is still on the router. For instance my HUE’s are no longer controlable.

Skynet is my router:

new modem = is what you use to connect to the internet, allow bridge and dhcp. you will see that the new modem is allow bridge mode
router = is what you use to extend your internet or wifi signal from new modem. you have to put in the mac address for ethernet and mac address of wlan of the new modem in the router. stop dhcp from the router so they will get the same class ip from new modem (same network). point the gateway and dns in router to your new modem ip address.

the wifi SSID, from router use the same as what you use in new modem ^^
