New Aqara Gateway Hub

Does someone know how I can receive notifications from Home Assistant, or Telegram when the alarm goes one?

Can you help me maybe with pushing a notification from the Home Assistant app to my IOS phone when the alarm has been triggered?

I do not have yet any notifications enabled

Hi,

is there a way to get this working with the recent version of the Aqara app (V2.1.7) ?
I can’t find a way to access Homekit mode.

Best,
Ck

Just pair them with the Mi Home App.
Remove from HomeKit, and from Home Assistant, start the integration for HomeKit.

Hi everyone!
I’m just a newbie.
I have paired my Aqara hub with HA by Homekit and already add some aqara motion sensor.
But, I can’t use light sensor ( integration with motion sensor ) in HA.
Please help me to enable light sensor of motion sensor.

Thank you!

I found this to work best after hours of messing around.

  • Pair with the MI or Aqara App
  • Open the Apple Home App and then remove the hub from homekit
  • It should appear in your Integrations as auto-discovered.
  • Configure and make sure you enter the code in from the Hub manual or box, etc. using the dashes as in XXX-XX-XXX

Hi Olivier, :grinning:

I see that you are not idle
 they still put a little boxing the Chinese with their different versions.

But they deserve to have offered a product that is simple
so if we are not spied on we can only thank them; o)

So, sorry I have one question more

My ZHWG11LM gateway has been paired with my sensor thoughHomekit for a while but I have a little pb to play the sirens that I would like via the services.

The trick is that I haven’t the “service xiaomi_aqara.play_ringtone” so that doesn’t works

I could have the service by adding manually the gateway in the configuation.yaml but it doesn’t work more.

Any idea please Olivier ? Thanhs for your help about. :fu:t2:

Hello @Gugus,

sorry for the late reply,

you doing well but your gw_mac is 13 digit, do you live on Mars? lol

Check your mac adress of the gateway or copy it (with a IP scanner software),

a mac adress is 12 digit.

xiaomi_aqara.play_ringtone

gw_mac: 7811xxxx2b35
ringtone_id: 10
ringtone_vol: 10

work great for me, i used it for my Diy doorbell.

When you said " I haven’t the “service xiaomi_aqara.play_ringtone”", do you mean you type all the words of “xiaomi_aqara.play_ringtone” and if you just type “xiaomi_aqara” anything appear in a box?

Normaly :
xiaomi_aqara

you must have all thoses services.

If you dont, something is broken for sure. Simple way is to revert to an old snapshot (if you have it).
Or perhaps dissociate from HA, and make a new integration again.

Hi Olivier!

Don’t apologize, it’s so nice to help me
 !! :fu:t2:

Lol
exact for the 13 digits but it is a typing error on my part by changing the REAL mac to FALSE

I did put the 12 truth digits and it doesn’t work anymore. I just told myself that maybe I should open a port on my router but in the end, I manage to activate the alarm so that shouldn’t be it

In the integration, I only have the bulb for bulb light ignition and alarm activation.

Yes, in “services” under HA, I don’t have any when I type “xiaomi_aqara”. :relieved:

So
wild card, I tried the integration again via the Aqara Home app but it doesn’t work better (I still don’t have the xiaomi_aqara.play_rington et cie services.

Thanks for your help

bad news

but do you use the integration in ha after setting up the gateway in Mi Home App?

1-add the gateway in Mi Home App, test if everything works.
2-go to Ha in “setting”, “integration”, then choose “home kit accessory”, then add the gateway with the xxx-xx-xxx code provide on the gateway or on the paper box.

sorry, just to be sure, you do like that?

if the integration in Ha is ok, you must have “Aqara Hub-XXXX” under “home kit” integration.

is it exactly what you have?

Yes, sure Olivier

  • I configured on « Mailand China » for the region and « English » for the language
  • I connected with my account (once in HomeKit Mode by default and tried whitout Homekit Mode)
thĂ© result is thĂ© sale : I can’t manage sound on the app. I only can arm the alarm or switch on the bulb

  • I delete aqara hub in HomeKit app
  • I pair in HA and it’s ok but I only can arm the alarm or switch on the bulb without xiaomi service

I don’t know where I made something wrong :face_with_monocle:

I did the Same in MiHome App.

Hi don’t you have a disconnect after 2 hours ?

Hi all, I am the unlucky owner of a ZHWG11LM (Aqara Hub).

I’ve been trying to connect it to home assistant, but can’t get any further than the Mi Home or Aqara Home apps

When I try and connect with the Xiaomi Home App, it succeeds, but then there is no “about” section to go into to tap to get into developor mode.

If I try to connect it with the Aqara Home ap, it goes through the Homekit registration (and is accessible via the “Home” app in ios) but fails at the binding stage in the Aqara app (see screenshot).

The homekit integration in HA does pick it up, but can only control the light or arm/disarm the alarm. All i want to be able to do is use the hub as a chime for doorbell.
Any help appreciated!

Hi @Gugus. I’m in the same page. The xiaomi service does®t appear after the integration with Homekit. Please if you or @Olivier974 find the solution explain how it’s solved this issue. Thanks to both.

Hi Pablo!
I admit not having found anything and hesitate to switch to a more professional solution.
I spent a little time there already

Hello to everyone. I’m a Aqara Gateway (lumi.gateway.aqhm01) owner
I really want to integrate Aqara Gateway with HomeAssistant. Please someone tell me what is the exact model that is compatible with HomeAssistant and Xiaimi Aqara Integration?

Thanks in advance.

Please stay away from the instructions on the Home Assistant integrations, some if the steps proposed in this guide are very dangerous. I hope you find a useful solution. I have moved all of my Aqara devices off the US Aqara hub to HA’s ZHA zigbee. Except for one temperature sensor, which works fine on the Aqara hub but will not work on ZHA, even though two other ‘identical’ Aqara weather sensors work fine on ZHA. Good hunting! Stay Safe!

DANGER! I asked the web owners to removed these instruction, but no response. Scary!

Find a specific screw bit (like a fork) to open the gateway case.
Find a USB-UART cable/module and connect it to your computer.
Solder 3 wires - RX, TX and GND like here.
Turn on the gateway (220V).
.....
Wait until the gateway is booted up, connect the RX, TX and GND wires to the UART module (don’t connect the Vcc (power) wire!).

Would it be worth replacing a deconz stick with the new Aqara Hub m2? Would there be advantages (eg range)?

is there a guide or video explaining how to open telnet on gateway m2?
