New Build - Help with hardware

Hello All - I’m new to this fabulous forum. Kudos and great thanks to all the contributors. I have went through lots of threads but still have several questions and need help with identifying suitable hardware
‘I’m doing a new build (~4500 sqft + 2500 sqft finished basement). I’ll be starting framing in a week so have option to run whatever I need. This is what my usecase is:

  1. RUN Home automation - Use Home Assistant (not an expert coder, so would like to pick compatible items to make integration easy)

  2. Would like to have wall tablets (family, kitchen, basement, master bed) - show camera feed, door bell, other sensors, audio, etc - can use fully kiosk browser on fire tablets

  3. security system - door sensors (3 exterior entry points), 2-3 indoor sensors, window sensors (8), glass break (have a sunroom), flood detection, fire detection, CO, etc

  4. other sensors - temp, motion detection to automate lights on/off, temparature sensor, thermostat, hvac sensor, etc

  5. cameras (prefer poe) - video door bell, exterior 2, sides 1 or 2 each and backyard 2; need motion detection and flood lights based on motion, siren - need something which is easy to integrate with home assistant

  6. Alarm system - have option to hardwire if preferred. Planning to have a media closet in basement where cat cables terminate… need the alarm to integrate with Home Assistant

  7. WiFi - will get a mesh network and Poe switch - any recommendations

  8. home audio - stereo speakers in 6 zones - thinking of HTD 6 channel whole home audio, Alexa centric. - any other recommendations which integrate better with HA?
9)Video - I’ll just run cat cables for TV. Will connect fire stick Locally. We watch mostly prime, Netflix and other subscriptions only. In family room I may just add sound bar. Considering media room in basement with projector. But it will be separate. No central video mgmt. as I can get everything done via 20$ fire stick locally

  9. cables - cat 5 or cat 6, what should I run for sensors, if hardwiring alarm panel what do I do?

may I get recommendations what’s recommended to purchase. I’m not handy. I can buy all and give it to the electrician and he will have to do the wiring.

Any assistance is much appreciated. I’ll take mid level options (bang for buck) in terms of pricing

I have new installation on the house.
I have found a dahua cameras with starlight technology for 77eur per piece.awesome price and highly recomended as it see in partly night without IR.
I have also integrated dahua vto doorbell, works like a charm a bit harder to setup but function wise awesome. I have 13cameras. All poe powered i just bought poe switch from amazon and 300m cat5. With alarm system we went with paradox, the problem is that the newer system have a bruteforce attack prevention. On older paradox i have just programmed a script and in 2hours i have the master code that technician would not gave. So on my new system i need to try like 1 per 30minutes i think to hack it. Because if i tryed like 1 per second it banned me :-O, but with older firware working with PAI addon perfectly. I have HASS privacy mask switch for internal cameras and have Frigate nvr addon for person detection. What i did also was making the perimiter alarm with the AI person detetion, works awesome. And i put 12V siren outside woth ESP01 relay. So double security. Router i use mikrotik hap or hac.with mikrotik APs works perfectly.feel free to ask

Thank you ukro. I’m in NJ, US. Would your recommendations be suitable?

Well paradox is from canada from what i know and you have amazon in US so i guess yes. BUT! The alarm system be very causios about it. The hardest part of all of that work was that as i wanted the security company have access for logs and alarm and me for motion PIR/Magnets and setting alarm without remote, with my phone.
Everything else siutable for everybody. I was researching to find a best price/quality camera for a week until i found

One thing to add, never buy poe switch with a seperate adapter, always buy integrated with a lookalike connector that is going to PC i forget the name. As with the seperate adapter its easy to break the connector.

Thanks. any specific recommendations please

I can only speak from experience.

  • If you are just framing, run lots of CAT6 to every room. You may think you can run everything on WiFi, but if the cable is not in the walls, you will be sorry. Someday. (Especially when you tire of changing a dozen batteries every few months. Think POE).
  • Avoid any device that needs a cloud account to function. When the cloud provider quits the business, your device is just worthless trash.
  • No matter your design, it will change in a year.

ill run cat 6 cable to external cameras, TVs and key rooms.
what are the best motion sensors, smart switches, cameras and alarm panel which look good (high WAF - wife approval factor) and works seamlessly (or with minimal tinkering) with home assistant.
i’m looking for this info …
i’m not picky on brand nor i’m audiophile … i’m looking for mid level budget and something which is reliable and not a sore (in terms of look) …i would like to do basic to mid level automation using HA

Its OEM but its dahua firmware

Motion sensors, just use the one that come with alarm system and manage to connect it to HASS

Smart switches
Sonoff with tasmota firmware (da best)

Thanks a lot. will check out cameras.
any recommendation on alarm system with best sensors which integrates well with HA.

As i said paradox is nice but first test it,choose sensors with included microwave. Not only thermal movement. Its called like grade 3 or something. I recomend use a company for that. I defenetly recommend using a company otherwise the alarm will be only as for show.
The addon is called PAI
