I have my ceiling fans connected via Leviton VRF01 Z-wave fan controllers, unfortunately these show up in OZWCP as light controllers (and thus lights within HASS). I believe some of the GE fan controllers have similar issues.
Technically this works, but it’d be nicer to have them register as actual fans. As a workaround, it’d be cool to have a fan template where I could create my own fan component using the “brightness” values of the existing light components (then just hide the lights themselves from the frontend). Basically 1~33% would correspond to low, 34~66% as medium, etc.
I’m not much of a developer myself, but I think this would be generally possible.
Any feedback?
