I just noticed that my sensors have a new option: configuration → duration.
Where does this come from and what is the purpose because I cannot find any info about it.
What motion sensor are you talking about?
Hi Blacky, SNZB-03’s
My Aqara and Lidl motion sensors provides duration for a while. It’s a number entity. You can set the seconds until the motion sensor will go off again.
Hi pedolsky, can you please explain what the use case for this can be?
It’s not clear to me when I increase/lower the default value of 60 what it does.
In the configuration details I see a # sign on the vertical axis so this is not time based.
Is there some documentation about this?
Please enlighten me!
I don’t know if there’s a documentation for it, but I can tell you how I’m using it.
The drinking fountain for our cat is controlled by an Aqara motion sensor. She drinks for a few seconds and then leaves. But the thing splashes for a minute and a half, because the motion sensor has a standard running time of 1:30. With the duration parameter, I can set the motion sensor so that it switches off after 30 seconds (and doesn’t annoy us any further ).
Sorry for bringing forward this old post, but I do have several of these SNZB-03 PIR sensors, and I would love to be able to reduce the activation duration time of them.
I am using a SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus V2 as coordinator.
The default SNZB-03 activation duration time is approximately 70 seconds I think. So when triggered, the status is “Detected” for 70 seconds and then changes to “Clear” again.
Where can I find this “Configuration → Duration” setting, and will I be able to reduce the “Detected” duration with it?
Hi Ed, which zigbee integration are you using?
Hi Nick,
I am using the Zigbee Home Automation integration (ZHA).
Are you using another integration?
As you can see from my signature: z2m
It’s not there anymore; I have lost track when this happened.
Thanks Nick.
I don’t understand what you mean by your signature, but I cannot find any reference to Z2M in your posts.
But that’s OK now.
Back in december 2022 when I started with ZigBee in HA I tried both ZHA and Z2M.
But it appeared that it unfortunately is not possible to use both ZHA and Z2M at the same time with one ZigBee coordinator.
But I will have a look again at the Z2M Add-on. It might be interesting to switch.
Well, that’s interesting, I indeed don’t see those signatures.
It looks like this for me:
Normally I am using Firefox as browser, but I now also checked it in Edge, and its the same.
Strange…
Found it!
It is this setting in the forum preferences:
Solved
Owkay, sorry: thought that they were visible for everyone and it’s kind of giving away my config right away if needed.
No problem, I learned something new again as well.
It also appears that these signatures are only visible when not only this forum preference is switched-on, but one has to be logged-in as well. And I have the habit to always log-off from forums and such when I leave, and only log-in when I want to post something.
