Wondering if I can do something similar to using lights.yaml to advertise a switch as a light. In my case, I’d like to advertise a light as a fan. I can’t find any documentation on this specific use case so figured I’d post the question here. For context, I am using the new Embrighten 58446 Zwave 700 Fan switches which have not yet been added to the Zwave DB.
I’ve never needed it, but you might try using the switch as x helper.
I just replaced an older version of the fan control with one of these and experienced the same. On the bright side, it appears the fan control has at least 4 speeds (from the documentation) and looks like it is infinitely variable from testing manually setting the “brightness”.
I created a template fan to convert the light into a proper fan, although I just made it 3 speed as HA seems to be happier with it that way.
If you are comfortable with YAML and template entities, happy to share or there are many examples available in other threads and in the documentation.
Hopefully the folks at enbrighten will get all this updated with the zwaveJS guys.
