In addition to the Dutch voice, I’ve now added a French (samples) and German (samples) voice!
Hassio add-ons are available here for amd64/armhf/aarch4: https://github.com/rhasspy/hassio-addons/
The add-ons run as small web servers, which you can try out through a browser. They’re also compatible with the MaryTTS API, meaning you can use them for local text to speech by adding:
tts:
- platform: marytts
to your configuration. It’s a bit slow on a Pi 4, but still usable; especially with the cache. Should be pretty snappy on a NUC.
These voices were trained with public speech data using a fork of MozillaTTS. They’re not perfect, but will hopefully be good enough for folks who are tired of picoTTS
