Today I saw a new products in Gardena - GARDENA 1889-29 (Controller) and GARDENA 1285-29(Valve).
It’s a bluetooth 9V battery powered valves and controller. Is anyone now if it will be work with HA?
Hi,
I don’t think they will work with HA.
Seems they are bluetooth device only, means you can controll them with the App on a mobile within ~15m distance. Thats it.
And AFAIK the other Gardena “smart” irrigation devices are radio (868MHZ) driven and need a gateway.
I use the Orbit B-hyve 94990 (amazon.com
: Orbit B-hyve 21004) which can be controlled by WIFI and Bluetooth and there is an HA integration.
Note: the Alexa skill seems to be available only for english Amazon accounts.
I’m also wondering if these would work with a bt2mqtt gateway or something like that?
Hi there,
Has anyone found a way to integrate the 9V bt valves with home assistant? I am highly interested in them as I don’t have a power connection close to where I would like to use them.
Here is a project that shows how to drive the Gardena valve with your own hardware:
How to Switch Gardena 1251 Latching Valve using OpenSprinkler Bee (OSBee) « RAYSHOBBY.NET
I have this running with a 8 channel 5V relay board where two channel flip the polarity for the pulse and the other 6 are available to trigger the respective valves.
Am looking into having this run on a ESP8266 with ESPHome Sprinkler integration…
Just create a pull request for this purpose: Add support for gardena bluetooth by elupus · Pull Request #95179 · home-assistant/core · GitHub if you are a bit developer savy, you can extract a more complete version from the gardena_bluetooth integration on this branch: GitHub - elupus/home-assistant at gardena/full
Ps. Damn i wish I’d have seen Orbit B-hyve 21004 before i did this. Getting the water flow too would have been soo much better.
