I’ve had this “new devices discovered” notification popping up for a week or so:
Initially stumped as to what it could be, searching all files in my Hassio directory pulled up mentions of ArloBaseStation in @sherrell’s excellent custom component Aarlo. Googling lead me to this article about newly released HomeKit support for Arlo. Finally, checking release notes of the current firmware on my Arlo Base station confirms that it now supports HomeKit. So, I think that I’ve tracked down what HomeKit Accessory: Basestation refers to.
Questions:
- Has anyone added an Arlo Base Station to HA? If so, what’s your experience with it? If you’ve used the Aarlo custom component, how does the HomeKit integration compare?
EDIT: I notice that the HomeKit controller integration doesn’t support cameras, so I guess that this question is moot. However, I would still like to pair the basestation in HA to get rid of the discovery notification until something like this proposed discovery ignore option comes along.

How can I pair a HomeKit device that does no have a pairing code printed on it and without an iOS device/Apple Home app? The official instructions unsurprisingly don’t cover this scenario.

In the future, is there somewhere I should be looking in HA or HA files to get more information as to what a newly discovered HomeKit Accessory could be?
