New Hyper-V setup and can't access HomeAssistant from any other local computer

I’ve just deployed the Hyper-V image and successfully setup HA. I can’t access this VM from my local network. I can’t even ping the 172.26.x.x address (web browser and HA definitely don’t work). I was able to add some Kasa devices and they seem to work correctly. However, device discovery didn’t work and I had to manually add the device via IP not sure if that’s related. From the windows client where I’m running the VM, I can access via homeassistant, homeassistant.local, and the IP address without any issues.

Is this a network routing issue where my devices (which connect via a Ubiquiti switch) don’t know how to route to a 172.x.x.x address?

This sounds like a networking issue. Is the Host PC, HA VM, and other devices on your network all in the same subnet? In order for (2) devices to communicate with each other they need to be physically connected to each other and be in the same IP subnet. Either your Hyper-V network settings are messed up causing the devices to not be connected to each other or your devices are not in the same subnet.

Turns out I need to create an external virtual switch and assign it to the VM. I didn’t have one configured in Hyper-V. Did I miss it in the HA instructions?
