New Ikea motion sensor

Is there anyone that has tried to get the new Ikea motion sensor up and running in home assistant? I get it discovered but it reports battery status only. Is there a way to configure it as a binary sensor that will go on when triggered?

Good, are you connecting via pen zigbee? If so, have you tried to update the firmware
to the latest version? I had an identical issue with the ikea button and was able to fix it with the firmware update.

What exactly do you want to achieve?
The IKEA sensors are not controllable - as far as I know. The only thing that will wake up the sensor, is an actual motion in front of it. Even if you turn off the GW, the sensor will continue to do it’s job once paired properly with bulbs.
What HA will let you do, is to create an automation that can trigger when the sensor has turned the light on (or off) and then perform some sort of action if/when certain conditions are met (optional).
Also, HA will let you turn lights (bulbs paired with a sensor) on/off individually or as a group just as the sensor does, but as a result of any other criteria than an actual motion.
AFAIK the sensor does not report motions to the GW, but the bulbs do report their state. And since you know that the only thing that can turn a bulb on, is the sensor as a result of a motion, you can safely assume that the bulb state correctly reflects the state of the sensor.
Having said all that, I too was looking for - and hoping to find a binary.sensor.room1 (or something similar) that could at least be read and used as a trigger. But I haven’t found anything.
And don’t rely on the battery level reported. I took a sensor down 2 weeks ago, and removed its batteries, but still it is reported by HA as present, and with a battery level of 37% (!)
This is not a HA bug, but a feature of the IKEA GW.
Once a controlling device (sensor/switch etc) has been configured and paired with the GW, it remains registered and reported until removed manually using the App. Independent of its physical condition or whereabouts. This can be quite useful as it allows you to control lights ONLY from HA with no other interfering IKEA controlling device in the loop.

I bought one yesterday. Paired it with my zigbee2mqtt stick. Got 3 sensors : battery, occupancy and link level.

Hello. I cannot use my motion detector
connect in Z2MQTT. what am I doing wrong? in ZHA, however, it works without any problems. can someone help me?
