I noticed the other day on the IKEA UK website that a few IKEA Tradfri items are marked as ‘Last Chance’. I’m hoping this is because a new version is going to replace them and these items are not going to be abandoned. That would seem odd given the news that the smart blinds are coming this year. I’ve searched but can’t find any news on this.
Yeah looks like this remote (but not the rotating one) and the presence sensor are going in UK.
All the bundles with these also marked as last chance. Also the transparent (not opal) bulb.
I checked in other locations (checked sweden and US) and there is not the same indication (yet)

Those GU10 bulbs are interesting. Not cheap but not stupidly expensive either. What other costs are there for integrating Tradfri into HA?
I avoid proprietary stuff as much as possible but I kind of feel Ikea will be a lot more benevolent with my data than, sky, Google who literally needs my data as part of its model.
You need a zigbee hub. Ikea sell one but you can also use zigbee2mqtt, or some of the other cross vendor solutions- search up the forum
You’ll need at least one type of Trådfri remote as well to connect to a bulb, once you have one though you can connect several bulbs/plug sockets to them.

Ah yes, the somewhat annoying Paul Hibbert! Yes I watch a lot of his stuff. Annoying but strangely compelling! Which I guess for YouTuber counts as a big win!!
