New install of Homeassistant OS, no internet access

I have done a new install of HAOS via the generic x86-64 install method: Generic x86-64 - Home Assistant

It appears to work ok, however the system has no internet. Logging in via CLI and trying to ping anything including my router does not work. The device also does not show up on my router DHCP page.
I tried gong in to nmcli and editing for static IPs, but no luck. Still no internet apparently. How do I edit the actual eth0 (or whatever it is called) interface on the host?
See screenshots of ip a and cat /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/default

This device is plugged into ethernet cable, which works fine when booting from live linux USB

Please help!
Thank you

Most probably that image does not have a USB driver or something like that which makes the network unavailable. I recommend trying the supervised method which will need Debian 11 + Docker to be installed.

Thank you, I was afraid of that.
I might try a USB-ethernet adapter as a last resort before going to a full OS base w/ supervised.
Thanks
