So I’ve been trying to work out what I did wrong, but can’t seem to work it out I installed hasos_rpi4-3.12 but there is no has . io tab in home assistant. I first thought I may have just installed home assistant with no has.os, but I retraced my steps and checked my install and it seems to be the correct has . io version.
Being a systems admin I tried to login via ssh(and did) but it is not really a linux system or at least not like what i’ve ever dealt with. I’m starting to think I should just install debian or ubuntu and then has.io and home assist, but I thought the native one would run better.
I’m just trying to work out how to diagnose whats going on.
I think i may have worked out whats going on, all the tutorials show has.io as the link but its changed to “supervisor” and moved to bottom of the page.
If by tutorials you mean stuff NOT on the official site then yes… they go out of date very quickly and are seldom up-to-date. This changed a while ago. This site is the only source of truth so always check the official docs.
If you are an advanced Linux user then you might just want to go that route anyway.
The hassos image runs a minimal version of linux and you might feel fenced in trying to do other normal things on the system later and the end up feeling frustrated. There is no performance benefits to the OS version compared to the version installed on a regular debian system. The OS version version is for users who have no idea how the OS runs or even care so it’s “easier” for them to get started.
