If I had any hair left I’d be pulling it all out, I can’t think of what else to try/do.
I’ve installed a new installtion of HA on a Pi4 at my recently deceased mother-in-law’s house. The intention is to have simple lighting and intruder detection whilst we sell the property.
I’ve used spare bits from home and made myself a couple of ESPHome devices to measure light levels(BH1750)and detect motion/presence(LD2410). One controller is a Lolin ESP32C2 mini and the other an Adafruit QTPy ESP32S3. To be sure they worked I testing them on my home HA and all was fine.
So when I got to the property I installed ESPHome and added the first device, but it wouldn’t connect to the WiFi! I’ve checked the WiFi password, double checked it, got someone else to check it, copied and pasted it but can’t get anywhere.
If I prepare for first use
in ESPHome Web and look at the logs, I can see an AP being setup but the AP never appears to my laptop or phone. I’ve turned off VPN on phone and laptop. On the Pi, I’ve removed ESPhome, restarted HA, renamed the esphome folder and reinstalled ESPHome. Probably done a few more things as well but I really can’t think what I’ve forgotten or not configured.
When I use the code I composed at home to make the new ESPHome device and look at the logs I get an auth expired
message when trying to connect to the Wifi. All the devices attached to the controller work and report what looks like proper readings
Please help an old man!?!?!?
P.S. I had no problem adding some WiZ bulbs to the WiFi network on this visit.
