I’ve just released NSW Beachwatch - a Home Assistant integration that tells you if it’s safe to swim at your local NSW beach or waterway.
What it does:
Pulls real-time water quality data from the official NSW Beachwatch API for 200+ beaches & waterways across New South Wales.
4 sensors per beach:
Swimming Safety (Safe/Caution/Unsafe with dynamic icons)
Swimming Advice (detailed guidance)
Water Quality Test (lab results + bacteria levels)
Water Quality History (star ratings for tracking)
Covers: Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle, North Coast (Byron Bay area), South Coast.
Installation:
Available through HACS - search “NSW Beachwatch”
Or grab it from my GitHub Repo here.
Screenshots & examples:
Check the GitHub repo for dashboard card examples and card yaml.
Note: Uses official NSW Government API. Not affiliated with NSW Government - just a beach-loving HA enthusiast!
