New One Z-Wave Plug Dimmer shows "unavailable"

Hi-

Just recently got HA up and running. Planning on migrating my Insteon system (damn you Insteon) to other types of devices…figured I would start with small steps. Picked up a few New One Z-Wave Plug dimmer modules to try to add to my setup. I was able to add them successfully, but for some reason, an day or so later, the two devices I had up and running now show as “unavailable”. I wanted to see if there were any troubleshooting steps I could start taking to help figure out the issue.

Link to the Amazon link for the switches:

Thanks.

HA >> devices and services >> devices >> select your device , in the device info section there are 3 dots. Look at the statistics for problems

Thanks for the reply. I took a look at the statistics, but I probably don’t know how to read them…

It looks like the node is TX/RX commands for the most part…there do not appear to be any dropped TX/RX commands, and the RTT seems to be reasonable?

I’m attaching screenshots for reference. Thanks again.

That is a pretty high level of timeouts. Roughly 10%. The RTT looks good for the first device, not so good for the second device. They may just be too far from the hub and the mesh isn’t very strong.

Are the devices marked as dead? If they are trying pinging them to bring back to life.

PeteRage- Thanks for the reply. I ended up installing a 3rd dimmer in the living room which is about half way between where the two other switches are installed and the PC that has the zwave dongle sending the commands. Things seem to be working a little better with the two suspect switches. I’m not sure how to reset the log as I would like to keep track of things now that I have a new configuration.

Just in case anyone is following along…

I came home from work today to find all three of my devices now show as dead in HA. Not sure what happened, or how to begin troubleshooting. Any pointers would be appreciated. I’ve tried to reboot my VM, but that didn’t seem to remedy the situation.

Thanks.

Based on prior analysis it looked like your mesh was weak.

Look at your stick location. Is it near a WiFi router? Is it on an extension cable preferable with a USB 2.0 hub? Solve those first if needed.

It’s also possible your stick moved to a different port. What kind of stick is it? What is in the zwavejs log files?
