It started a few years ago when I realized everyone here was talking about mmWave technology and I’d completely missed it. That actually sparked this idea: even when you’re active in the community, it’s easy to miss things during those periods when you’re a bit less engaged. I wanted a newsletter that would keep me (and others) in the loop without needing to follow everything constantly.
I have been using Home Assistant for 8+ years (started with version 0.2x) and I’m the developer and maintainer of the Multiscrape and MeasureIt custom integrations, used by lots of HA users. I’m always looking for new things to try out, and I finally found some time to build a tool that makes it manageable for myself to gather relevant articles and publish a newsletter issue every week.
Each issue is a curated overview of the most relevant and interesting smart home news, releases, and articles I come across that week. Not everything is Home Assistant–specific, but a lot of it directly impacts the HA ecosystem. The last issue covered for example:
