New Sony Bravia TV integration not working well

Hello!

I had my Sony Bravia TV working great using the integration in the configuration.yaml but since the latest changes my TV stop reponding to command after a while.

If i wake the TV up with my remote, everything reconnect again, i can see it on in lovelace and i can control my tv for a while.
But once the TV spend some times OFF, it wont turn on again using home assistant commands.
Only the remote works and, if i do so, its starts working again for a while.
It looks like it reconnect correctly if i reboot home assistant core aswell

Did somebody encountered this already?
May be related to: https://github.com/home-assistant/core/pull/35077

There are no errors in logs.

I already tried to reconnect it properly - remove all integrations (config.yaml, integration GUI, remove know device on TV and setup connexion with password again with no luck.

many thanks for your help!

I do have to ask though, did you reset you TV to factory condition? Is remote start still on and WOL still enable in your TV settings? The reason I ask is because the TV will go from standby to off after certain amount of time (I think I’ve read 4 hours but I’ve seen it vary greatly). In the off state it is the WOL packet that actually turns on your TV not the regularly used API. The new code in HA actually was written with the intention of stopping the issue you are describing from happening. It refreshes the cookies every time your TV comes from an off or standby state to an On state. There were many people that were experiencing your issue before this release that are now not.

Now with that being said – there is at least one, and based off of what you said possibly two major issues introduced. There is a release being tested now that should be pushed up to HA by the end of the week to fix this. There is more redundancy in the turn_on command (Reintroducing previously removed code and increasing the number of WOL packets) and a bugfix for those who use the headphone jack.

Same problem here. Used to work, now broken. But that’s software. Mostly it just adds more broken sh*t to your life.

I did not reset my TV.
Actually and for a while, everything looks to be working fine.

Hope it will stay like this
Thanks for you help and explanations!

What’s the point of this?

to speak the unspeakable.

@Antipiot does your tv go into a sort of power saving mode? also is it wired or wireless to your network? I had an issue if I had a power save setting turned on. I don’t remember the exact setting but it’s under the Home Network Setup menu on the TV and in the Remote Device/Renderer options. I have a non-Android Sony from 2015.

Hey, thanks for your reply,
I sure controlled this - everything looks fine.
TV is wired and no power saving settings enabled

I met the issue also.
My sony TV work well at the old revision HA(using yaml setting)
But the Sony TV can not be waked up after i power off it by the last revision HA. and every thing will be back after i power on the TV by remote.
I del the TV yaml common, reset the TV setting,re-setup the TV control by HA Integrations.
but HA can not power on the TV still.

My problem is, that since recently (can’t say whether the last tv update or HA update) it does not trigger my automation which starts when TV is ‘on’.

Edit: My bad, I am not aware of all possible states (where can I find tem). Recently the status is ‘paused’ when I turn it on…
