New thread switches wont pair with HA

I just got around to installing some new Inovelli White (Thread) Dimmers and when I try to add them to my HA I get your device requires a Thread border router. I have a HA Yellow with the Home Assistant Connect ZBT-2 for better range. I have other Thread devices in my home and have no problems with them. The switch enters pairing mode and it appears that HA finds it but claims that there is no border router.

I would read this and see if you dont have a similar networking issue too.

I don’t believe that I am having a networking issue.

Neither did they when they started, but your call.

I’m not a network guru and read through that post a couple more times. I see that that person said he fond the root of the issue, posted a screenshot of his network router and said he “disabled them”. I’m not sure what he disabled as he didn’t specify. I looked at my router and found some of the things in his screenshot but not all of them, as far as I can tell the ones I found are disabled and I don’t have “storm control” that must be some marketing name to a setting that just sounded cool, I don’t know what that would be on my router (unifi dream machine) they don’t use gimmicky names. Plus I don’t know if that’s what he disabled.

If you could help me understand what settings I should look at changing that would be a great help.

The OTBR addon version 2.16.0 had an issue with some installations where the ListenAddr was not set correctly.
Version 2.16.1 fixes that.

The typical cause by this issue is usually that the phone/tablet you use to commission the new device through have switch out its thread credentials, so they need to be copied over to the device from HA again.

No i cant, it was different for my network than it was for theirs. Since you are using unifi and there is a whole thread for matter and unifi. That thread would be a good place to start. If you still have questions i would update that thread.

I’ve gone through those forums and enabled IPv6 on my UDM-pro but no luck still does not work. I ordered another smart plug that I know works on my thread network and will be here today. I’ll see if I could add it. If that still doesn’t work I think I’m going to have to remove all the thread integrations and start over in hopes that will fix it.

I don’t understand how all of a sudden IPv6 not being enabled on my network is a problem. To get my thread devices working before I only enabled IPv6 on my HA Yellow.

The only thing that I could think may be the problem that I completely forgot about was I migrated my Thread network from the onboard radio to the new ZBT-2 radio. Chould that be the issue.
