My configuration for Home Assistant is getting close to where I need it be (to start with), and I am currently about to set up appdaemon and later on HADashboard, but reading up on HADashboard v2 and then reading the installation for the old version got me a bit confused, and I could use some clarification on some points.
HADashboard v2 isn’t really related to v1 besides in looks, is it?
Is any parts of the documentation for v1 relevant for v2?
Looking at the branches of appdaemon, it looks like the dashboard will become a part of the default branch of appdaemon once it’s stable enough, right?
If so, does that mean that I can/should skip the appdaemon installation and just use v2 beta and implement my appdaemon automations from that instead?
Yes, No and you can set up your appdaemon scripts using v2, but it is not declared stable yet, eventhough the appdaemon part is not any diffrent than the original appdaemon - as far as I can tell.
Here in my setup I ran all the automations on original appdaemon and have a seperate installation of v2 just for testing dashboard v2.
allthough i am quite sure that it is stable enough since i stopped running my original appdaemon since beta2.
i would probably skip appdaemon installation and just use v2 beta instead.
