Migrating my existing setup from Smartthings as i’m tired of their “cloud” mentality.
i’ve got a very overkill server that i’m running unraid on and chose to roll out HA as a docker (running version 0.85). Currently, my config consists of me passing my zwave USB device and thats it. I am using a HUSBZB-1.
So, my main zwave related issue so far is that it seems that the network goes to sleep or becomes unresponsive when not in use. Other non-zwave devices, such as lifx, hue, ecobee, all appear to work without issue, but zwave seems to slow down and become unresponsive. I’ve seen both devices all stop responding (though the dashboard says they are all good, I cannot control them at all). Other times, I try to turn a light on or off and after say 5-10 minutes, it will trigger. If I reboot HA, no issues at all.
Not sure if its my USB stick or something else. i don’t see anything funny in the logs, though i’m not 100% what i’m looking for at this point in time.
I would start with resetting your zwave network - remove all zwave devices from BOTH controllers (your USB stick and the former controller you were using) then add devices to hass only one by one.
ok, i’ll give that a shot. I got the removal process down for smartthings, but is there anything special I need to do in HA besides hitting the remove button and confirming it removed via the logs? Do I need to do any resets to the USB device itself before I reset things up again?
Not all devices will reset their Z-wave settings with a factory reset. My Schlage locks have a specific sequence you must follow to unpair. Factory reset doesn’t work.
