New to voice assistant stuff

I’m hoping for some guidance as I’m going through removing Alexa and prior have not had HA doing the below as Alexa took care of them.

I set up Voice Assistant using Speech to phrase and Piper.

I have installed View Assist and converted first Echo 8 to Lineage and using View Assist Companion App.

I’ve got Voice commands from the Echo 8 responding to Weather command and to play Radio via Music Assistant and Stop Music,

But voice commands to create Alarms, Timers and even playing local music all fail and I’ve spent days trying to get answers about whether I’ve missed out things in configuration of HA.

Am I missing something basic here?

Alarms and music don’t exist
You can make custom commands to add what you need

timers expect a defined format. Look here for defined commands for the language you are using

Speech to phrase also may misunderstand you causing failure . Hearing “tie more” vs “timer”. Things like that. If it consistently fails you may need to verify if it’s hearing you correctly consistently.
