Newbie install: use the same flash as the one with Raspbain on it? or will etcher overwrite?

I am following the instructions for Pi4. I’ve d/l the hassos.img and Etcher, but am I supposed to use the same flash drive that is running the Raspbhain/Pi? I am concerned that etcher will wipe those files to put HA there–or is the hassio image complete (meaning it will still be the boot device for the Pi)?

Yes it will overwrite raspbian. Yes it is bootable.
