Newbie steer

Hi everyone,

Hoping to get a steer on a couple of things…had a search but struggling to get a direction.

I have a bunch of Hue lights and Hue Dimmer switches, Nest heating, auto blinds, etc… On the whole the Home Assistant stuff is working great but want to do more.

First thing is Hue. I think I am settled on the idea of keeping all the bulbs in the Hub Bridge so I can set scenes using the Hue app. Seems HA is very happy to work with the Hue Bridge. What I am not sure about is the Hue 4 button Dimmer Switches. I see there might be an API limit of 1 per second. Question is, should I move the switches to HA direct with the Zigbee stick? Is that even possible?

Out of interset, I see my HA is able to keep a check on what buttons are being pressed and then act on this information, is HA constantly moniotoring activity on the Hue Bridge or is it being sent by the Bridge? Really clever either way…

I setup the remote Home Assitant thing using the Nabucasa service and linked it to Alexa. I ended up with a load of duplicate devices in Alex which has caused a bit of confusion when asking her to do things. Should I just remove the devices that are in there already and get Alex to only work with the devices via HA?

I think thats it.

Many thanks,

David
