Newbie WIFI connection on HA on VM

Hi,

I am a newbie on home assistant and hope this is the correct group to post this. I have installed HA using the predefined VMDK and run this on Esxi 6.7 (VMware). I have an external adapter three of them but I cannot get this wifi working. It will be detected when I plugin by HA.

I specially purchased this adapter as they told me it was HA compatible (I have tried also three others which failed).

I used the following guide line:

But it will not recognize my wifi. What I am doing wrong here? Or does this not work on a VM?

You have a VM, which is presumably using ethernet to host the VM…I don’t understand the need for wifi?

Hi, Sorry for the late reply. O solved it differently. I needed this for EspHome to do OTA updates on Wifi Devices.
