I recently picked up a Unify UDM Pro and a Home Assistant Blue with some Aqara door switches.

I don’t plan to automate that much but I would like warnings for things like “You left the house and the garage door is open you idiot!” and Hey, you just turned off the bedroom light and it’s dark out and the garage is still open" and preventing the whole house fan from running unless at least one door or window is open.

If your garage door opener doesn’t have WiFi, look into getting a bridge. Then, not only will you be able to tell if it’s open or closed, but you’ll be able to open and close it, too!

Also, it’s Unifi. Two is, no y.
