NMAP not working with Access Point

My setup:
TP-Link Archer C3150 router
Netgear R7000 Router in AP mode
Home Assistant is running on my RPi 2 via WiFi.
I’ve completely wiped my RPi and put a fresh installation of Jessie on it before using the All In One HA installer. Did this twice.

Using NMAP tracker, the only error I’m getting is from HA trying to query the Netgear running in AP mode.
16-08-13 12:58:35 netdisco.ssdp: Error fetching description at http://192.168.0.103:8200/rootDesc.xml

I set up another AP (actual AP) which is a Netgear WN3500RP; but didn’t get any issues with this one.
Is this an issue with using a router in AP mode?

What do you get when you run NMap from the command line and use the AP’s IP as a target? Any errors?

Seems to work fine from command line.
Maybe I’m mistaken and its MQTT that’s the issue.

Not familiar with MQTT though. How would I test that via command line?

I use CloudMQTT, so I go to the control panel and use the WebsocketsUI to check if things are communicating. Not sure how you diagnose in Mosquitto or the embedded broker.

If you have mosquitto-clients installed, then you can run the following command to stream the MQTT output:

mosquitto_sub -t “#” -v
