No access with macbook, iphone, ipad but with windows pc on hassio.local:8123 [solved]

Hi,

I have trouble in accessing hassio.local:8123 on my mac, ipad and iphone when i’m in my local wifi but with my PC it works fine. I use chrome on my macbook, i tried chrome on my iphone and ipad…

i tried https://hassio.local:8123 and http:// but nothing works. I also tried 192.168.2.104:8123…

I can access my 192.168.2.104:5050 which leads to my dashboard on my ipad, iphone and macbook…

When I’m on my phone connected to 3G / 4G I can access via the app my duckdns.org and access hassio…

so, no access in my local wifi on my apple products… anyone any idea what it is?!

When you connect using https://hassio.local:8123 , do you get a web page saying something to the affect that this page is not private or secure…? Can you use your duckdns.org address from your Mac?

Hi,

when I use mydomain.duckdns.org I can connect to my local router. if I use https://mydomain.duckdns.org:8123 I get nothing…loading forever and nothing happens.

when I try https://hassio.local:8123 I get “page not loaded” and at the bottom it says “DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN”

I tried this:
Go to the Apple menu, select “System Preferences” and click “Network.”
Change DNS settings on Mac
Enter password (if required to authenticate) to proceed with the changes.
Select the network connection you want to modify:
-To change Google Public DNS setting on Ethernet, click on “Built-In Ethernet” and select “Advanced”
-To change wireless network settings, choose “Airport” and, again, opt for the “Advanced” settings
If you want to replace listed addresses click +. Or, you can also add new Google IP address to the list. Type: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Didnt help.

I have not seen this, but searching on the nxdomain error you listed, I see this recommendation:

Open a terminal session on your Mac and run the following commands:

sudo discoveryutil mdnsflushcache
sudo discoveryutil udnsflushcaches

It seems that hassio.local cannot be resolved. What happens if you try http://192.168.2.104:8123 or https://192.168.2.104:8123 ???

Hi

i flushed the cache with the commands but it didnt help to use hassio.local:8123 but https://192.168.2.104:8123 works now! thank you everyone

I have had the same connection problem since setting up Hassio six months ago. At that time I read that iOS do not accept third party security certificates. So I thought the that was the problem.

Well, tried to connect my iPad on my LAN, once more, after reading this thread, and the my HA home page popped up. But I am not able to log in. - Not getting any errors message.

Do you use a password in your case?
