I had a working HA version 2023.6 on the internal SSD of my intel NUC. Then HA offered an update and I did it. the update lead to a frozen HA.
I had to hard reset my intel nuc. Afterwards HA didn’t start anymore. I just get the message “no bootable device found”.
Also my SSD isn’t shown in the boot menu anymore and also not available trough a Ubuntu live system via USB.
My problem now is, that my backups are on the ssd and I’m not able to access it. even through a USB Adapter its not availabe on the NUC and also on Windows.
Any suggestions how I can access the HAOS File system on the drive to save my backup and rebuild my system again?
I can also not do the following which is suggested in the manual because I don’t have a recognised drive:
Sounds like your SSD has failed. Have you looked in the BIOS / UEFI settings to see if it’s listed there? If its not even detected (you tried on another computer with the usb-adapter and you know the adapter works?) there’s probably no easy fix. You can pay for recovery services but usually (at least here) that’s very expensive.
Never do backups only to the same storage as your “production” storage. Always keep multiple copies on multiple locations.
Yes. It’s not even recognized in the bios. I think the adapter works. It appeared in win 11 but was not accessible. I think because it’s HAOS installed.
I know I have to store the backup somewhere else. Unfortunately I haven’t configured that yet.
The SSD is EXT4 formatted and thus not readable through native Windows.
If you can still access that SSD from Win 11 take a look at the free version of Linux Reader. With that tool you should be able to access, read and copy the backup to your PC.
We tried everything an nothing worked. seems like the ssd is gone. I already installed HA on a new SSD and also used proxmox. The 1st thing I did was configuring automated backup.
