"No config found" when trying to add items to dashboard, Making HA un-usable

I can’t seem to add any items to my Overview or custom dashboards. I get an “No config found” when selecting any dashboard (See image)

There are no errors in the logs. I am running 2024.11.1

This makes HA somewhat un-useable for me. Anyone know how to solve this?

You can’t add things to auto-generated dashboards. Is your Overview still autogenerated, or have you run the “take control” flow?

What about your other dashboards, are those manually edited?

Understood. I thought I had created “Main” and not done any manual editing to it but perhaps I was mistaken. I created a new dashboard from scratch and I was able to add items to it. Thanks!

I am running HA 2026.2.3. I would like to run the “Take Control” flow. Where is it?

UPDATE:

I was (erroneously) assuming that I was taking control of the Overview dash board.

I found it.
