No GUI after upgrading to 0.110.0 and 0.110.1

Hi all,
I’ve been using Home Assistant since versions around 0.50 - and tons of upgrades varying from venv on a RPi, to docker containers on Ubuntu - and now for the past 3 months HASS IO, has certainly learned me a bit about troubleshotting, reading forums and the configuration of HASS.

But after last nights upgrade from 0.109.3 to 0.110.0, the GUI suddenly stopped serving me, along with the API, so NodeRed cannot do any automations in the meantime. I got a ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED in the browsers and the IOS app doesn’t work either.

I’ve tried like every trick that I know off, disabling custom_components, updating components, downgraded core version but nothing seems to help.

Is anyone having the same issue or can anyone lure out, what the problem really is?

I’m running HASS IO on an ESXi 6.0 server, and I can use the CLI and SMB shares without any problems.

My configuration is here:

From the log file, I can see theres some issues with COAP - which could relate to the Tradfri integration - and that the controller is not online. I can rule out every other errors by disabling the integrations in configuration and removing from the custom_integrations folder - but still no GUI.

I’ve pasted the log file here, with all warnings and errors:

What I can see is your mqtt is not indented correctly.

Easiest way to troubleshoot : rename your configuration.yaml to configuration.old. Create a new (empty) configuration.yaml. Restart HA. IF HA comes up, put one by one back in from configuration.old to configuration.yaml.

Breaking changes… so you need to sort it out. .110.1 is lots of changes…

Thanks for your reply, the MQTT indentation is correct, but the copy/paste somehow managed to screw it up into the forum

With an completely empty configuration, I still got no GUI and the errors has been reduced to

I’ve been through the breaking changes before upgrading - and it was just from 0.109.3, so I haven’t been missing much, regarding deprecations and breaking changes between versions.

Somehow it feels like something can’t start up - and with everything wiped to “zero”, the GUI should start.

I also had troubles with 0.110 version. After update, GUI did not start. So I downgraded to the last working version ie. 0.109.6 and I leave it to sunday. I suspect that I still have onvif config in configuration.yaml and now it is obsolete cause it is in integrations.

its seems those config are hidden since you are using integration which is hidden in your HASS. The error logs show it all.

Nubi, hacs, edgeos and esxi_stats are all custom_components. These are not covered in the release notes. So one more thing to try : rename your custom_components folder and restart HA once more.

I found the issue. Had nothing to do with the custom_components, as I also wrote, I had tried to disable before writing…
It was the onvif integration that screwed it all up. Harsh to crash an entire instance, due to this little thing, as I already had cameras with onvif… Not a single error anywhere, except the GUI and API not loading :expressionless: - hopefully this can help others out:
Just deleted the following in my config, and everything works.
