No-IP Domain Name Host

I use noip.com to manage my domain name, and have recently noticed my IP changing from time to time (after about 12 months of static…ugh). I found the no_ip integration, but this isn’t working and seems way too simple.

https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/no_ip/

Here’s my config.yaml entry:

no_ip:
  domain: [MYDOMAIN].com
  username: [MYEMAIL]@gmail.com
  password: [MYPASSWORD]

Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!

There is an issue open for this:

Not quite the answer I wanted, but I appreciate the info and followup. Thanks!

Can this be reopened since the bug was never resolved? Where is the developer?

The topic is not closed. You are free to continue to comment despite the fact that the original poster has chosen a solution.

Sorry, I meant the GitHub issue to get this fixed - as it still does not work without the nodered workaround

The original contributors to the issue let it go stale. Open a new one and don’t let that happen. It is a simple as test ion after each new major release and reporting if it is still an issue. I kept an issue about input selects from going state for many months. It was eventually looked at and fixed.

I ended up getting rid of No-IP for ha and switched over to a cloudflare tunnel, was slow to get set up but no port forwarding anymore and it is secure … And I once the tunnel was up - lighting fast!
