No location sensor mentioned anywhere in Home Assistant application on Samsung Android

Hello, in the the Home Assistant Android application, at “Device > Mobile App > Sensors”, nothing mentions Background Location or any such. Same with Diagnostics, “Companion app > Troubleshooting” - or anywhere within the Home Assistant Android application. In particular, “Settings > Companion App > Manage Sensors” doesn’t even have the “Location Sensors” section.

I granted the application the “Allow all the time” location permission. Other applications get GPS location just fine. I also granted the application unrestricted battery use.

The Device’s Logbook has recurring entries with “was detected at unknown” or “was detected at unavailable”

From all I read, the location sensors should “just work”… What am I missing ?

did you install the app via the play store or fdroid?

I installed the app from F-Droid.

no location tracking on frdoid (also mentioned on the download page)
