new install, two things are failing upon boot resulting in no ip address to connect to and the {dot}local addresses not to work
tried reinstalling same thing happens, anyone tell me how to fix it

first few installs (just playing around) was working fine then I moved it to a different switch on my network and this started
now I cannot get a ip address after doingh a fresh install, same happens if I use a different pi
installing the pi os will get a ip address
Have you set a reservation?
I did but then I deleted it
You want your address to be repeatable and predictable. Start with a reservation and go from there.
I have to have a ip adddress to be able to do that
