Eero must choose to place restrictions on some devices regardless of whether HomeKit security is enabled. I had HomeKit enabled at some point last year when my network was all Eero 5 Pros. When I added the 6’s they were not compatible with HomeKit. I had to remove all of the 6’s in order to disable HomeKit and then re-add the 6’s. Good times that was. Seems the only way to change that default restriction is to do it through HomeKit.

Wow, I didn’t even have HomeKit enabled on my HomeAssistant instance (but HomeKit security has been enabled on my eero), and I got bit by this. Just tried adding it as a HomeKit bridge so I’ll now have the ability to set to No Restriction in the Home app. Sheesh, what a mess…

(edit - yes, this fixed it for now!)

Yet again, I updated HA to the latest release (2021.6), then Re-enabled Advance Security on Eero Pro 6, then rebooted HA. Same issue re-appeared again after 12 hours or so. Disabling Advanced Security and reconfiguring add-ons again…

In the Eero app I have my HA NUC set to type Hub. I wonder if that invites any restrictions on its own versus setting the type to something like Desktop or Default.

I’ve had Advanced Security in the Eero app off for months now.

As nocturne1 mentions you’d probably have to have the HASS Bridge (HomeKit) integration running in HA so that the HomeKit app can see it and give you the option to change restriction settings.

Mine has been working fine since I made the above changes a couple of nights ago.

I’m pretty sure the type or classification of the HASS server has nothing to do with these issues… Mine is also a “Hub”.

I’ve asked Eero Tier 3 support the question via email as I had a ticket open from when I was unable to get HomeKit connected. I don’t know if they will be able to provide a definitive answer or if they’ll provide an answer at all. In the meantime if you’ve got 10 minutes to burn maybe try changing that to Desktop or Default and give it all a reboot.

EDIT:
I’ve just tried this myself on another Pi I had laying around. Changed type from Network Device to Desktop. End result after a full network reboot was this same error

Support from Eero on this issue is terrible. I’ve been doing back-and-forths with them for the past two months. They are trying all sorts of things that don’t make any sense and some suggestions they make are not even possible. Utterly useless so far. Disappointed…

It has been a week since I made these changes and things are still back to normal. Probably going to jinx myself now.

What changes? Disabling Advanced Security? I think that’s what everyone is doing…

And the thing is, it sucks paying for Eero Secure just to have these issues… having to disable things you pay for… looks like I know what subscription I won’t be renewing, I bought the eero system hopefully making my internet more reliable and not cutting on and off like my Cox modem router did, but stuff breaking just because of advanced security is a no… I’ll try contacting eero but I do not know what will happen

Simply disabling advanced security didn’t work for me. Only connecting and changing HomeKit options did. Maybe it was leftover/stuck settings from last time I had HomeKit connected. It it really as simple as turning off Advanced Security for people who never had HomeKit connected?

I had and still have HomeKit connected and disabling Advanced Security brings everything back to life.

I have eero’s and have been stuck with this as well. I upgraded to the Supervisor 2021.06.0 load today and that resolved my issue. No other changes were made.

Please wait 12-16 hours and report back…

It’s been 22 hours and still working fine.

Is Supervisor 2021.6.0 still in beta? I don’t see it yet… Or you mean the Core?

EDIT: I see it was just released yesterday: Releases · home-assistant/supervisor · GitHub

Supervisor 2021.6.0 did NOT solve the issue for me. Amazon is only offering a partial refund…

Hi guys, I hope I solved this issue. I installed supervised and haos from belena etcher SEVERAL times, and cloned some, after a while the add-ons turned to green, some dissappeared. Then, I connect this device to an other network, it worked properly. I think my static ip is banned.
