No valid repository for https://github.com/home-assistant/addons

Hi all

Before posting this enquire i’ve been reading and searching as much as I could about this topic, but had no luck (or read not enought) as per finding a solution to it, so i’d appreciate some direct help on it or recomendations on other posts that might already work this issue out.

Set up i’m using:
–> Home Assistant Supervised on Raspberry Pi
–> Raspberry Pi 3B+ 64-bit
–> Advanced mode: enabled

Problem:
No add-on is shown on the default add-on repository intergated in the Supervised HA version.

The log lines that I recognize as relevant to the the problem are these:

21-02-02 22:21:19 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.store.repository] Can’t remove built-in repositories!
21-02-02 23:21:19 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.store.repository] Can’t remove built-in repositories!

21-02-02 23:21:19 INFO (MainThread) [supervisor.store] Loading add-ons from store: 0 all - 0 new - 0 remove

I before had a LSS certificate not valid yet missage for the https://github.com/hassio-addons/repository site but included this site on the trusted sites configuration from windows and missage is not displayed anymore. - This information I give just in case it shall be worth to know.

An this is the whole log:

I already did… i lost count, of number of fresh installs.
Any idea on what could be causing this?

Many thanks in advance.

Hello, can you share a print screen of “system health” (configuration menu --> Info)…
Do you use a SD card to boot from ?

Hi!
Yes, i’m using a Scandisk Ultra 32GB. I used balenaEtcher to flash it.

Please find the required info below:

Same error here:
21-02-22 14:49:29 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.store.repository] Can’t remove built-in repositories!

The addons disappeared.
I’m using Pi 4 and after updating to core-2021.3.4 this started happening.

Same error after new fresh instalation (https://github.com/home-assistant/operating-system/releases/download/5.12/hassos_rpi4-5.12.img.xz) on rpi4…

@Darth Did you try to install the relase 5.11 of the HassOS or downgrade the HA version to another version like 2021.2.3… As you are not the only one having the problem, there is maybe something in 5.12 or in HA or a combination of the two for Rpi environment… I am running on a NUC and do not encounter any problems with the latest versions of HA, supervisor and OS…

Hi there. Same issue here with 5.12 release.

Unfortunately fresh installation with 5.11 has same output.

Hi @browetd, haven’t had the chance yet, but i can see from @ilceko 's comment that it didn’t give him a good result… I’ll give it a go anyway just in case. Shall I assume you all guys (except @browetd) are running HassOS on a Pi?

yes @Darth , Pi4 4 GB.

I also downgraded supervisor and core. But nothing changed.

I guess I will wait some updates. :frowning:

Same issue with a nuc with win10 and virtualized (vmware) os 5.11. I’ve also tried to upgrade to 5.12 but nothing has changed.

Some other info: I’ve installed the 5.12 on the same nuc a lot of times trying to understand if was some wrong configuration by my side (debian and ubuntu, using kvm and virtual box). At the end i moved to win10 and vmware, and tried the last for version of ha os. With the 5.12 the issue was always the same, but with 5.11-10-9 the add-ons were working. So I’ve been using the 5.11 since 3-4 days and everything was ok, but this morning the dns error came up. I’ve update ha os to 5.12 (also updated my dns in ha core) but nothing changed.

I don’t know what to try anymore…

Same here.
Raspberry 4 with RASPBIAN (no Hassio) version core-2021.3.4 cannot load home-assistant/addons only the Community ones.

I am also seeing these messages on a Hyper-V host running the OVA, so it doesn’t look related to the Pi.

Versions:

core-2021.3.4
supervisor-2021.03.6
Home Assistant OS 5.12

Did you try to open the link “https://github.com/home-assistant/addons” on another computer using a browser ? There is maybe a DNS translation issue…

------- provisionally SOLVED!!! I think -------

This is WORKING FOR ME right now

sudo git init
sudo git config http.postBuffer 524288000

After multiples tryings of loading the repo and restarting the Supervisor and reloading it, sometimes i got error codes about github error connections. After searching and trying a lot, It seems that the repo size is too big and can’t end the operations before closing connection. So you should change some Git parametres.

(Yesterday i tried some other postbuffers parametres but it appears they werent large enough. Maybe in the future the same thing happends again :frowning: )

–edited-- (added ‘fix’)

NOT a DNS problem.

I’ll explain you why… Because it can retrieve and load (and install/use) the HA Community Add-ons repository without a problem.
(Inside Github and similar url )

For me the problem persists.

This is my system log:

What I did was restarting the supervisor, reloading the supervisor and trying to ADD the REPO again / reload the repos.

There’s a point where they add the error lines while trying to load the repo + the same lines you’ve.
Try it several times to check if you can find those errors. Thanks to these errors i coould search the problem where it lied (i also added a NAME in the GIT config as i found yesterday it might be the cause… i dunno i tried 20000 different things and i’m new in linux :expressionless: )

But how can I open a terminal if I cannot install SSH add on?
where I can type:

sudo git init

etc…?

I’m sorry but I can’t help you with that. I’m a Windows guy with poor Linux knowledge.

I’m using Raspbian and there’s Terminal there… and to connect from windows and work properly, instead of SSH I use the installed VNCServer

I think that you can type directly in the HA OS in your system (raspberry/nuc/linux/etc) or with an addon like Terminal

I can’t really understand where is my problem. HA seems like trying to delete the repo and fixing it everytime! Could somebody help us?
