No Z-Wave Plus on Zooz S2 Stick

Hello all,
I am fairly new to HA (played with it a bit in the past, but nothing more than creating integrations with hue and such).

I have recently (received yesterday) a Zooz 700 Series Z-Wave Plus S2 USB Stick ZST10 700, and got it setup in HA pretty easily. I generated the S0 and S2 security keys, as per the instructions in the ZWaveJS supervisor add-on.

For configuring the ZWaveJS addon, I selected the /dev/serial/by-id/... entry, instead of the /dev/ttyAMA0.

When I configured the ZWaveJS integration, it was able to configure things properly, but I noticed that the Device for the Zooz stick states that it doesn’t have ZWavePlus. Is this expected, even though it is a Zwave plus stick? I have an outdoor outlet switch as well. Here are the two devices listed in the integration

Here is the device info for the zooz stick

It says that it isn’t a Z-Wave Plus device, does this mean that it can’t control Z-Wave Plus devices? It also says there is no security. So I am just confused what exactly this device entry is saying.

My outdoor outlet switch however, does say it is Z-Wave Plus.

I am not sure if this means that the controller is working with Z-Wave plus, but the “device” for the controller is just not showing that.

Additionally, the outlet didn’t give me the option for S2 security, even though it does support it. I have tried re-interviewing the device a few times, but it doesn’t change. I have the keys and everything setup properly (according to the documentation of the supervisor add-on).

If anyone could shed some light on if I am misinterpreting things, or if I am correct in my interpretation, help me fix it, that’d be fantastic.

Thanks in advance.

Curious about this too after reading your post.

Having a 24 devices Z-wave mesh, working fine, never noticed it. But i have the same with different stick…

Out of curiosity, do you have devices that have security enabled? My switch (only device I currently have, will soon be getting more next week), says “Z-Wave Plus: Version 1”. Do you have devices that have S2 security and Plus?

Security and Z-Wave Plus fields don’t apply to controllers. You can just ignore it.

Awesome, that’s what I was hoping was the case. Now how about the security for the plug I have? It is this switch, it says that it is S2 compatible, and there is a QR code and DSK on the box. Why doesn’t the ZWaveJS integration securely connect/include the device? I read a post (don’t have link) that said it should just automatically connect securely.

Can’t say without any logs. Maybe the security bootstrapping failed. Any kind of error during the process will abort it, and it includes unsecure. The node inclusion dialog should have told you it was included with low security if that’s the case.

Ok, thanks a lot. I will go through the inclusion process again later, and see if I can get any relevant logs in the process.

I tried re-including it, and it did in fact prompt me for the DSK. But then it failed

It took a few tries of excluding and then re-including, and then it finally worked.

Thanks for all the help.
